Lately, I have been following the Towson men’s basketball team. The last time the team won was December 11, 2010. As of today, the team has lost 38 consecutive games in a row setting the NCAA Division I record for the most consecutive losses. At this point there is no hope for a winning season and all the games seem meaningless. Despite this hopelessness, the coaches and the players continue to preform their rolls. There may be players on the team that want to walk away but can’t because of outside expectations. There may be players that might not be as good as the other players, but who recognize that basketball is the only thing that they are good at. Although they may not be the best, the only thing that these players want to do is play and think about the game. That type of player is inspiring.
